Let me introduce my wife and me to you. Donna and I answered the call to ministry in 1977, beginning to serve in a local church in rural Iowa. In 1980, we moved to Tulsa, OK to attend a Bible School there. Upon graduation, we moved to southern Colorado to start a new church. We have started churches in Colorado and California. In 2008, we answered the call to the mission field. We currently live in Mumias, Kenya, where we have established a local church, three campuses of a Bible School, run a Medical Health Centre, and assist young men and women with their education.
There are things a missionary just can't explain. Especially when it comes to life in a foreign nation. But God's grace is sufficient! In our weakness, HE is strong and brings us through! Thank you for supporting us on the mission field. We could not be here without the generous support of our family, friends and partners! |
2025 UPDATE
In January 2024, Donna was hospitalized in Kenya. We were advised to return to the USA for treatment. We finally came in March, and she was immediately hospitalized again. They found she needed two heart valve replacements, and some abscesses in her mouth. 21 days later, she was discharged to recover at home and we were to wait to have the second heart valve replaced. After two weeks at home, she was admitted again because of improper blood work, and during at stay she went into respiratory arrest. Thankfully she was under great care! A week later, she was again discharged, and decided to come to Iowa. She recovered well, but stayed weak and quite unsteady. In November, it was decided she should have the second open heart surgery. Since her discharge, she has really improved! We are so excited to be on the full road to recovery!
Our plans for 2025 personally are to stay in the United States until the end of August or first part of September. I will return to Kenya in March for two months, then return the first part of May. We are trusting God for open doors of opportunity to share our vision, ministry, and the Word with people through out the summer, as we raise funds for our next season in Kenya!
Keep us in prayer, as we need to renovate the bathroom in our Cedar Falls home, and also need to renovate the bathroom in our Kenya home, so we have nice walk-in showers and accessible facilities. We are waiting for estimates on both - the house in Kenya, the landlord will reimburse us the costs of materials, although we must pay for labor.
Thank you for keeping us uplifted!

MARCH 2023
I am just going to be transparent. These past two months have been very difficult for us. First, we lost one of our African sons the first of the year. He was brutally murdered by his roommate. The aftermath of that event also created stress and problems that we needed to face. We were alone. Many of our friends seemed to desert us. But through it all, God is faithful! Shortly after the death of our son, I got sick with a serious sinus infection. I went under treatment, but it lingers even now. Donna has struggled with gastric issues again. Sometimes, we are so tired we find it difficult to wake up and begin our day! But in the midst of this, God is faithful! By the first part of February, we noticed a significant decrease in donations coming to our ministry. As a result, we have not gone to the market for five weeks. In addition, we have not been able to purchase supplies for the clinic as we normally are able to do. There are staff members whom we have helped with supplies over the past two years, and we have not been able to assist them either. Through it all, God is still good! While just one or two of the things we have faced these past two months would discourage you, the combination has really affected us. At times, we just want to pack up and move back to the United States. But as we pray, we hear the Lord say, “it isn’t time.” We stay faithful in the study of the word, in prayer, and in teaching whenever we get the opportunity. We see ministry growing, and our effectiveness showing. We try to keep focused on these things. Recently, I read this from the Passion Translation. Philippians 4:12-13, “I know what it means to lack, and I know what it means to experience overwhelming abundance. For I’m trained in the secret of overcoming all things, whether in fullness or in hunger. And I find that the strength of Christ’s explosive power infuses me to conquer every difficulty.” Thank you for standing in faith with us. Thank you for praying for our strength, our health, and for every need met. Thank you for encouraging us with messages and emails. It really helps. We love our partners, friends and family so much. We couldn’t be here without your support! Together, we really DO make the difference!! |
